We made it! Public libraries as a learning space

Compensating for the deficiency in the education systems especially in the Arab countries becomes one of the public libraries challenges! This presentation introduces successful learning models which could be easily provided in public libraries. The presentation will also include some projects developed by youth and children.

Rasha’s Profile

Rasha works as a head of IT department since 1997 at ICS which is one of NGO’s in Egypt that leads group of public libraries; she contributed to spread the culture of information technology in ICS libraries and then in Egypt under the name: “IT clubs”. Rasha has special interest in non-formal education at libraries which pushed her to join several courses around the world in the field of democratic citizenship and human rights education. She studied at the University of Illinois in Mortenson center for library studies and finally awarded by foundation as one of the best 100 outstanding telecentre women managers worldwide.
