Konstantina Karydi, Member of the Board of Balkans Beyond Borders
Approaching Generation Y
Sharing experiences, building on the new, communicating online, living across borders: this is generation Y. Using new media and film making as a medium of expression we give the floor to the Y(outh).
Konstantina Karydi is currently a scientific advisor and Head of the Europe direct Office of the Municipality of Athens. She is also a Junior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). Her research interests include the role of civil society in governance and the relationship between the Third Sector and State institutions, europeanisation and democratisation in the Balkans, mass politics and democratic theory. From October 2010 until March 2013 she was Editorial Assistant to the Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies. She has been actively involved in a number of Non Governmental Organisations including Amnesty International and KEAN Greece. She has taken part in a number of academic conferences and seminars; she is fellow of the EU and the SE Europe Leadership development program 2008-2009 and a graduate of University College London (UCL). She has lived in London, Paris and Athens. She is co founder of Balkans Beyond Borders.
