E-books in Greece and their future at the libraries
To what degree are we accustomed to reading digitally? What is the state of the ebook market today in Greece and what is the future of ebooks? What role can libraries play in the age of e-books? A publisher, a writer, an ebookstore representative, a platform manager, a specialist in digital and a Google representative, coordinated by a famous ebooks blogger discuss their prospects of cooperation.
Harris Psichogios grew up in the midst of books. In 2010, after completing his studies, he undertook to create an integrated section focusing on e-books and e-applications in Psychogios Publishing. His team created the first Greek ebooks and apps for the Greek market. In October 2010, they introduced their e-titles and interactive apps in iTunes, and in 2012 provided their first enhanced publications. Through the digital infrastructure they created, they allowed all electronic bookstores to sell Psychogios books in electronic form. They have the largest Greek ebook catalogue, with more than 800 titles.
